At a young 18 years of age, you would have found John hauling lumber over his shoulders up and down the hilly streets of San Francisco. His early experiences included highlights of working on the Jessica McClintock estate under a talented historic plastering master, having their work featured in Architectural Digest magazine. John’s career would later take him through the entire process of residential development and later deep into the world of commercial construction.
Having had the opportunity to put his hands into every layer of construction has given him well rounded experience in what has to happen at each level of construction and full awareness of the responsibilities of each individual subcontractor, project manager, superintendent, architect, city planning department, and he is always prepared for what building and fire inspectors need to see upon their visits. John’s experience creates a very functional job site environment, keeping things running smooth, on time, and within budget. In 2003, John got his own contractor’s license and so began J Farris Construction.
